With the grill function, you don’t have any restrictions on the type or shape of food you can grill  – from corn on a cob to perfectly chargrilled chicken breasts, skewers, kebabs, fillets, and even steak. It also comes with an intelligent technology that ensures that your meat cuts will be evenly cooked without the need to flip from one side to another. However, I always love flipping also to help the process.

Another favourite way to enjoy this gadget is baking. Due to its rectangular design, you won’t also have limitations with baking. Other circular air fryers might not provide enough room for baking flatbreads or making a good batch of cupcakes, but you can do all of that with this model.

The roast mode is excellent for creating impressively tender and crispy baby potatoes, meat cuts, fish, and lots more.

Finally, the dehydrate mode is excellent for making beef jerky, dried fruits, and herbs in record time.

Here’s a tip to help you get the best results with your air fryer. Swap regular vegetable oil for avocado oil, grapeseed, or canola oils as they have a high smoke point. This helps reduce the risks of smoking when grilling.

Also, note that the kick-starter recipe that comes with this model may not have the most accurate temperature and time for your meals. I find it’s better to experiment or practice checking your food from time to time to avoid overcooking.

I also recommend ensuring that you are using a heatproof worktop because of how hot your air fryer/grill will get.

Sturdy and delightfully large

The Ninja AG301UK is quite large, which means it will not fade into the background like other compact air fryers. Plus, it looks more like a pizza oven but delivers even better performance. The control panel of this model isn’t that obvious but discreetly placed at the bottom of the appliance. There you will find carefully labelled buttons and displays to guide you.

The only downside is that this device is over 8.1kg. So it’s not easy to move it around. The rectangular design might also make it difficult to put and take this appliance out of a kitchen cupboard. Therefore, you should consider a permanent space on your kitchen counter. Don’t forget to factor in the short power cable and the need for ventilation on all four sides while making your selection.

Designed for great control over your grilling

Your Ninja Foodi Heath grill and air fryer also come with four different pre-set temperatures to guide your grilling:

• The lowest temperature at 204oC is excellent for grilling sausages, meats, calzones, and bacon with thick sauces.
• The medium temperature at 232oC is excellent for steak tips and frozen meats.
• The high temperature is 260oC and ideal for burgers, hot dogs, steaks, chicken, etc.
• The maximum temperature at 265oC, which is perfect for kebabs, fresh and frozen seafood, fruit, pizzas, and veggies.

Again, I earlier talked about how the kick-starter recipe guide may not be entirely accurate. Unfortunately, this is also the same for the pre-set mode, so you should plan to check your food from time to time as well.

Ideal for making tantalizing pizza

The design of your air fryer also makes it easy to cook homemade pizza. However, this model does not come with a re-heat mode for frozen pizza, which can be a downside. But I found you can make do with the roast mode to achieve that as well.

High temperature

Your Foodi can handle temperatures as low as 57C to 260C.

This is also supported by an excellent temperature range of 210C for the bake mode. The grill goes as high as 265C, while the roast mode maxes at 260C, and the air fryer climbs as high as 240C. However, you still have to pre-heat your grill, which might take as much as 8 minutes. But this time is far less than it takes a conventional oven (about half an hour).

Easy to clean and use

Because this Ninja air fryer is made from non-stick ceramic coated components, clean-up would be a breeze. All you need is hot soapy water and a clean cloth to clean your air fryer. Your grill tray will also arrive with a brush that makes it easy to clean up the grill quickly. Finally, you can also pop other removable parts, including the cooking pot, grill plate, crisper basket, of your air fryer into your dishwasher for a speedy and hassle-free washing up experience.
